Treasury Inspection

The Treasury Inspection is conducted by the PAG (A&E) WB each year to complete the inspection of all 87 Treasuries by three inspecting parties headed by Senior Accounts Officer/Accounts Officer with the objective of reviewing the functions of the Treasuries. The Principal Accountant General and Deputy Accountant General (Accounts & VLC) undertakes periodic visits for supervision of the inspection work of selected Treasuries during a year.

The observations and irregularities noticed, if any, in the maintenance of the accounts of the Treasuries are reported to the concerned Treasury Officer through Inspection Reports endorsing copies to the (i) Director of Treasuries and Accounts (ii) State Finance Department. On the basis of the observations projected in the Inspection Reports, the 'Annual Review of Working of Treasuries' is prepared and issued to the State Government for taking remedial follow up action.
