This Office is a field Office under the Comptroller and Auditor General of India and is tasked with role of auditing the Offices of the State Government in Maharashtra, as per the mandate given under the Comptroller and Auditor General India’s (Duties, Powers and Conditions of Service) Act, 1971.

The Office of the Comptroller and Auditor General of India formulate the policies and issues directives which is implemented by this field level Office.
