Construction Audit
The important functions of Construction Organization in a Zone of Indian Railways are: -
- Survey & Estimation.
- Planning & Design.
- Tenders and contract management in regard to projects and construction activities.
- Supervision of Construction activities and ensuring of timely completion of Projects.
Construction Organization also undertakes the following activities as allotted by Railway Board:
- New Lines (Construction)
- Gauge conversion
- Doubling
- Traffic facility works
- Road Safety Works –Conversion of Level Crossings into Road over Bridges/Road under Bridges (ROB/RUB).
- Signalling & Electrical works.
Auditee Units:-
Activities related to construction of New lines, Bridges, Gauge conversions, Doublings, Traffic Facility Works, Road Safety Work etc. are covered under the purview of Audit. In this regard, the GM(Con), all the CAOs, CEs at HQs office and Dy.CEs in the HQs/ field Offices are the primary Auditee Units.
