INTRODUCTION

The Posts & Telecommunications, Audit office, now Finance & Communication Audit Office Kapurthala came into existence w.e.f 1.4.1976 after the bifurcation from Accounts. This office started functioning in the Darbar Hall, a princely building of Maharaja Jagjit Singh, Kapurthala up to September 2005. In October 2005, the Branch Audit Office shifted in the Administrative Complex of Postal Accounts, Kapurthala.

Sh. Surinder Kumar is an Indian Audit & Accounts Services (IAAS) officer of the 2021 Batch.  He is a graduate in Sciences (B.Sc.). He took the charge of this office with effect from 24.01.2024. He is responsible for overall supervision of audits of the units of BSNL, Department of Posts and MIETY under the jurisdiction of Kapurthala branch office in four states viz. Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh and Jammu & Kashmir. Previously, he has worked as Senior Audit Officer in O/o PAG (Audit) J&K at Srinagar/Jammu.
