Shri Ramawatar Sharma has taken over charge as Accountant General (Audit-II), Gujarat, Ahmedabad on 31.07.2026 (FN). Prior to this, he was working as Accountant General (Audit-I), Rajasthan, Jaipur. He belongs to the 2003 batch of Indian Audit and Accounts Services.
He joined public service as Assistant Commissioner of Police in Delhi Police and later on joined the Indian Audit and Account Service (IA&AS) in 2003. He has served as Deputy Accountant General/Director of Audit at Kohima, Baroda and Delhi where he dealt with the audit of State Government, Petroleum and Telecom Sector. He has also worked as Director at National Academy of Audit and Accounts (NAAA), Shimla and Director of Audit at O/o Principal Director of Audit in Embassy of India, Washington DC, USA, and as Accountant General in Rajasthan and Bihar.
Besides auditing various Indian missions and PSUs across the world, he has varied experience of auditing International Organisation of Migration (IOM) at Russia, Turkey and Austria and UNICEF Headquarters at New York and its field offices at China, Myanmar, Indonesia, Ghana, Burkina Faso and Senegal.
He has participated in various training programmes held at IIM Ahmedabad, iCED Jaipur, iCISA Noida, National Audit Academy, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and Berkely University, California.
He is a certified ISSAI facilitator for financial audit and has attended/designed course modules for the same at Bangkok and Tokyo on behalf of ASOSAI.
