Overview

This report for the year ended 31 March 2023 has been prepared for submission to the Governor of Maharashtra under Article 151 (2) of the Constitution of India. Chapter I consists of Introduction, Chapter II consists of Audit of Transactions-Compliance Audit Paragraphs and Chapter III consists of Audit of Transactions-Subject Specific Compliance Audit of State Government Departments.

The report contains significant results of Compliance Audit of State Revenues which include two Subject Specific Compliance Audit of Goods and Service Tax Department and six Compliance Audit Paragraphs.

The instances mentioned in this report are those which came into notice in the course of test audit for the period 2022-23 as well as those which came to notice in earlier years, but could not be reported in the previous Audit Reports; have also been included, wherever necessary.

The audit has been conducted in conformity with the Auditing Standards issued by the Comptroller and Auditor General of India.
