Introduction

The Head office of the Principal Accountant General (Audit-II), Uttar Pradesh is stationed in Gomti Nagar, Lucknow at Audit Bhawan, TC-35-V-1, Vibhuti Khand, Lucknow- 226010. The office of the Principal Accountant General (Audit-II), Uttar Pradesh is entrusted with the audit of various Departments of Government of Uttar Pradesh under four clusters  (1. Finance 2. Energy and Power, IT & Communications 3. Industry and Commerce, Culture and Tourism 4. Environment, Science and Technology and Public Works). These clusters are divided into four Audit Management Groups ( AMGs) viz. AMG-I, AMG-II, AMG-III and AMG-IV. While AMG-II, AMG-III and AMG-IV are located at Lucknow, AMG-I is located in Branch Office, Prayagraj. Each AMG is headed by a Group Officer. Branch Office is entrusted with the audit of Department under AMG-I. The branch office of the Principal Accountant General (Audit-II), Uttar Pradesh is stationed in Prayagraj at Satyanishtha Bhawan, 15-A Dayanand Marg, Prayagraj- 211001.

The office of the Principal Accountant General (Audit-II), Uttar Pradesh, is entrusted with the preparation of the Audit Report on State Finances, the Audit Report (Revenue and Civil), and the Audit Report on State Public Sector Enterprises, as well as Performance Audit Reports pertaining to Departments, State Public Sector Enterprises, and other entities falling within its audit jurisdiction.

The office of the Principal Accountant General (Audit-II), Uttar Pradesh, also extends assistance to the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) and the Joint Committee on Public Undertakings and Corporations (COPU) of the Uttar Pradesh Legislature in their examination of Audit Reports tabled before the Legislature.
