Administration Section comprises of Administration Unit-I, Administration Unit-II, Welfare Assistant and Hindi.

The Administration Section is responsible for dealing with all Administrative and Establishment matters pertaining to the office as a whole. The important functions and duties are indicated below:

• Recruitment, appointment, transfers, promotions, deputation, grant of leave to staff and Officers.

• Office maintenance: procurement and up keep of furniture and office machines.

• Departmental Confirmatory Examination: SAS Examination, Revenue Audit Examination and other departmental examinations, training of Staff etc.

• Maintenance of service records and leave accounts of Officers and Staff.

• Preparation of pay bills and other bills for claims of staff and Officers and other bills.

• Preparation of Pension papers.

• Maintenance of Recoveries Register.

• Preparation and submission of Budget Estimates, Control Statement, other returns due to the CAG and Principal Director of Audit, Eastern Railway (Audit Officer for this office) and other offices.

• Preparation of Staff proposals.

• Maintenance of Registers of Expenditure and their reconciliation

• Preparation of Appropriation Accounts relating to the Accounts of this office.

• Watching implementation of Official Language (Hindi) and its progress in day to day work.

• Procuring and supplying of Stationery.

• General Maintenance and upkeep of office library

• Maintenance of Register of EQ/VIP Quota

Apart from these, the certification of pensions (pre-audit of pension cases) of the staff of Western Railway and Northern Railway will be done this Section.

Administration-I is dealing with all the administrative work related to Recruitment, Promotion, Transfers & Postings, Deputations, Appropriation Accounts, Pension Cases, RTI Applications, Court/Disciplinary Cases, Service Association, Recreation Club, Implementation of MACP Scheme, Preparation of Gradation List, Allotment of quarters, Gender Sensitization Plan, Passport related work, Training, Manpower position, Budget & Expenditure, Advances,  Outsourcing Contracts, SAS/RAE/CPD Examination related work, Conducting of Departmental Examination of Clerk Typist/Auditors, Conducting of Incentive Examination of Senior Auditors, etc,.

Administration II is dealing with the Scale check Register, Liability Register, Recovery Registers Bills Register, Control Registers, preparation of Pay Bills (Gazetted and Non-Gazetted Establishments) including Group ‘A’, Passing of TA Bills, Tuition Fees, Passing of Medical Bills, Clearance of unpaid list, Passing of Provident Fund(Temporary &Final), Payments & Recovery of Loans & Advances, Issue of Railway Passes to the officials(serving & retired), verification of passes & PTOs, Group Insurance Scheme, Dak monitoring, supervision and arrangement of MTS staff in absence of Welfare Assistant, etc.

Welfare activities along with other purchasing in respect of office needs, other miscellaneous expenditure duly approved by competent authority on office-related work, etc are being undertaken by the Welfare Assistant. Further, the imprest account of this office, maintenance of Dead Stock, Library Register of the section, tackling grievances of the officials, looking after the cleanliness of the office premises and MTS deployment under the guidance of the AAO/BO of the section, removal and destruction of old records of the section, adequacy of drinking water/sanitation facilities in the office, helping and encouraging recreational activities, Liason work, get together and arranging picnics, etc are being looked after by the Welfare Assistant.

Hindi section is also the part of Administration. The section is having one sanctioned post of Hindi Officer and 03 Jr. Hindi Translators. This section is directly in control of the Sr. Audit Officer (Admn.) presently since no Hindi Officer is posted. This section is dealing with all the matters related to Rajbhasa Vibhag under the ministry of Home Affairs. The cadre of Hindi Section is directly controlled by the Rajbhasa Vibhag, New Delhi.
