Shri Rajiv Kumar Pandey (IA&AS) Director General of Audit

Shri Rajiv Kumar Pandey (IA&AS) assumed office as Director General of Audit (Home, Education & Skill Development), New Delhi with effect from 1st July 2022. He has a wide and diverse experience of public auditing, public expenditure management, finance & budgeting, appraisal of infrastructural projects and administrative matters handling large workforce etc. during his career spanning over 28 years.

Prior to this, he had been Director General of Audit (Northern Railway). He had earlier served in Madhya Pradesh state as both Accountant General (Audit) and Accountant General (Accounts & Entitlements).

As Principal Director of Audit, he headed the Indian Audit Office in the Embassy of India, Washington DC during 2015-17. Prior to this, he served as a Principal Director of Audit (Indian Air Force).

He had been on deputation to Delhi Development Authority(DDA) under the Ministry of Urban Development (Delhi state) and posted as Chief Accounts Officer at DDA from June 2006 to July 2011. During United Nations audit assignments, he led the Performance Audit on Procurement by World Food Programme (WFP) at WFP Headquarters, Rome in 2013 followed by the Compliance Audit of WFP Office at Tanzania in 2014. Also, during November 2011 and February 2012, he led the audits of International Organization for Migration at its Headquarters in Geneva and Regional Offices, Manila and Philippines.

He is a Post Graduate in English Literature from Patna University and possesses Master’s degree in Business Management from Faculty of Management Studies, University of Delhi. He is also a Law Graduate from University of Delhi and a Life Member of Indian Institute of Public Administration, New Delhi.

In 2022, he participated in a workshop on PM Gatishakti project in National Academy of Indian Railways, Vadodara.

He had also participated in various International training programmes including Workshop on Audit of Public Debt organised at Australian National Audit Office (Supreme Audit Institution) in Canberra under the aegis of Asian Organisation of Supreme Audit Institutions (ASSOSAI) in October 2004; MDP at University of Singapore and Capacity building and modernisation programme on financial attest audit at National Audit Office, London, United Kingdom in 2006.

He also represented SAI India at Winter Training Conference of International Consortium on Government Financial Management at Washington DC(USA) in December 2015 and received recognition certificate from ICGFM on behalf of CAG of India.
