State Audit Advisory Board (SAAB)

Objective

To enhance the effectiveness of audits including audit reports by providing a forum for professional discussion between the senior management of audit offices and knowledgeable and experienced professional from varied fields.

Function

The Board is reconstituted evey two years. Atleast two meetings of the SAAB are held every year.

The function of the board will be to advise the Accountant General (Audit) on the coverage, scope and prioritization of public sector audit in Jammu & Kashmir including suggestions regarding appropriate audit approaches and techniques.

Recommendation of the Board will be duly considered in planning audits and bringing out systematic improvements in the audit process.

2. Principal Director, Regional Training Institute Jammu.
3. Dy. Accountant General (Administration/AMG-I) Srinagar – Ex-Officio Secretary.
4. Dy. Accountant General (AMG-II) Jammu.
5. Dy. Accountant General (AMG-III) Srinagar.

Honorary External Members:

1. Prof. B.S. Sahay, Director IIM Jammu.
2. Sh. Kuldeep Singh Nathyal, Retired Chief Engineer.
3. Sh. Vikas Purdhani, Chairman, NIRC of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI).
4. Sh. Neeraj Rohmetra, Editor-in-Chief Daily Excelsior.
5. Sh.Mohan Singh, Padam Shri in Literature and Education.
6. Dr. Raja Muzaffar Bhat, Activist, Columnist and founder of J&K RTI movement

The tenure of the Honorary External Members will be for a period of two years starting from 01.04.2024.
