Mohd. Parwez Alam
Accountant General (A&E) Uttarakhand
Mohd. Parwez Alam is a 2008 batch officer of the Indian Audit and Accounts Service (IA&AS). Prior to this assignment, he has served in key positions including Deputy Accountant General/ Senior Deputy Accountant General in Bihar, Jharkhand and Manipur. He has extensive experience in auditing various sectors, including the Indian Air Force, Ministry of Finance. Gol etc. Before his posting in Uttarakhand, he served as Principal Director (Northeastern Region-I) in the Office of the Comptroller and Auditor General of India New Delhi.
Mr. Alam has wide-ranging experience in Performance, Compliance, and Financial audits, covering Central PSUs, State government departments, and thematic areas such as environmental issues, IT systems, forest conservation, biodiversity, flood management, and sustainable development. He has played an active role in the audit of national schemes, training impact assessments, and mid-term reviews of major performance audits. He has also received specialized training in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Data Analytics, and Financial Management from premier institutions such as IIM Ahmedabad, IIM Bengaluru, NAAA Shimla, and iCISA Noida.
On the international front, he has conducted Financial and Compliance Audits of ILO offices in Indonesia and Vietnam and audited Indian Embassies in Bangladesh and Bahrain. He was part of the Compliance & Performance Audit at the United Nations Headquarters in New York and carried out a compliance audit of the UN Peacekeeping Operations (UNIFIL) in Lebanon. His international exposure includes participation in a Remote Access Audit at iCED Jaipur related to UN assignments, and representing India at the Indo-China Young Auditors Forum held in China.
