Regional Capacity Building and Knowledge Institute (RCB&KI), Shillong is one of 10 Regional Capacity Building and Knowledge Institutes of the Indian Audit and Account Department. It is the apex Capacity Building Institute of the 16 Indian Audit & Accounts Department offices located in the North Eastern Region of the Country. This Institute was established in March 1989 and is located in an independent campus known as ‘Lachatelette Complex’. The 4601.50 sq.m complex was part of the estate of the erstwhile Maharaja of Manipur and was originally acquired for the Office of the then Accountant General, Assam in 1955. Since its inception, the Regional Capacity Building and Knowledge Institute has grown into a full-fledged and a well-equipped Capacity Building establishment of the Indian Audit & Accounts Department in the North Eastern Region. In May 2004, RCB&KI, Shillong was upgraded to the O/o Principal Director, RCB&KI. Since September 2016, the Regional Capacity Building and Knowledge Institute, Shillong has been functioning from the newly constructed Administrative cum Academic and Hostel Blocks.
