The objective of the constitution of the Audit Advisory Board is to enhance the effectiveness of audits, including audit reports, by providing a forum for professional discussion between the senior management of railway audit offices and knowledgeable and experienced professionals from various fields.

Consequent to the restructuring of railway audit offices and in accordance with the instructions issued by the office of the Comptroller & Auditor General of India, the Principal Director of Audit is pleased to reconstitute the Audit Advisory Board for this office.

The Board, comprising the members listed below, shall advise on the coverage, scope, and prioritization of audits while providing recommendations on appropriate audit approaches and techniques:
