Who We Are
The Office of the Principal Director of Audit, Railway, Kolkata functions under the Comptroller and Auditor General of India (CAG).
As one of the nine Zonal Railway Audit Offices in India, the Office is responsible to the CAG through the Deputy/Additional Deputy Comptroller and Auditor General of India (Railways) for administrative matters and audits.

Headquartered at Kolkata, the Office extends its reach through branch offices located across its jurisdiction, ensuring effective and coordinated audit coverage.
Our Role
The Principal Director of Audit holds overall charge of the Office and is assisted by the Director, Deputy Director, and Senior Audit Officers. The Principal Director of Audit directs and monitors the activities of audit units across the jurisdictional Railways in accordance with constitutional mandates and guidelines received from Headquarters.
