- Office of Director General of Audit (Central), Chandigarh was established w.e.f 2nd April, 2012
- The office is responsible for audit of all receipts and expenditures of Central Government units ( including Central Autonomous Bodies) located in the States of Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh and Union Territories of Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh and Chandigarh.
- DGA (Central) is assisted by three Group Officers.
- Audit of 217 (GST-216, Customs-1) units (2019-20) out of total 378 planned units (GST-342, Customs-36) of INDT units has been completed by deputing 13 field audit parties.
- Audit of 131 units (2019-20) out of 199 planned units of Direct Taxes units is being conducted by deputing 13 field audit parties.
- Audit of 99 units (2019-20) out of 186 planned units of Central Expenditure units has been completed by deputing 13 field audit parties.
- Financial Audit of 32 Autonomous Bodies is conducted for issue of SARs.
