Introduction:

The Welfare Section is headed by a Welfare Officer. Presently he is being assisted by an Assistant Audit Officer, a Welfare Assistant, two Assistant Supervisors, two Sr. Auditors (AAO-ad-hoc), one Sr. auditor, two Data Entry Operators, and two clerks.

The welfare Section shoulders the responsibility for the overall well-being of the office and the staff. The Welfare Section performs such duties and fulfills those responsibilities that ensure improvement in the working conditions. 

This Section further aims for high morale of the staff and brings in a professionally cordial atmosphere at the workplace for efficient performance. 

The Welfare Officer in particular plays a role to establish a feeling of confidence amongst staff and invests in energy to promote internal & external goodwill. This Section looks into comprehensive welfare through diversified coordinated activities and plays a vital role in bringing work-life balance, good health & fitness, liaising & hospitality, environment conservation, and social harmony.

 

Duties & Functions


1.  Issuing ID cards to staff and advising them in their initial phase as required.

2.  To advise on provisions and maintaining amenities & welfare facilities in the office building i.e. encouraging provision of adequate sanitation facilities, safe drinking water, overall hygiene, common room for women employees, creche in office for the benefit of working parents, and the like.

3.  Personal verification of wards of deceased employees who are applying for the job on compassionate grounds.

4.  To coordinate with the Estate Manager in the matters connected with the allotment of government accommodation, its unauthorized occupation, and verification of facts concerning the allotment of the ground floor on medical grounds, etc.

5.  To manage activities of the departmental café to provide quality food and its smooth functioning on all occasions.

6.  To maintain and encourage the use of the recreation room cum gym for the health & fitness of the members of the staff 

7.  To maintain a first aid kit to ensure immediate medical assistance to the sick or injured staff member until full medical treatment is made available.

8.  To organize indoor/outdoor sports tournaments including the IA&AD Zonal and Inter-Zonal tournaments assigned by the Headquarters office.

9.  To coordinate with Headquarters for recruiting persons under sports quota.

10. To organize regular social & cultural activities amongst the members of the staff for strengthening social bonds and breaking the monotony at the workplace.

11. Celebrating special days of national and international significance (e.g. Republic Day, Independence Day, International Yoga Day, World Environment Day, etc.) to sustain the importance of these special days and inculcate patriotism towards the country and the planet Earth at large.

13. To organize seminars on issues of significant importance including Anti-corruption Week, Vigilance Awareness Week, etc. 

14. To coordinate disaster management activities and arrange mock drills in collaboration with the fire department

15. Space management & its provision to conduct in-house sessions of training, seminars, cultural events, and various departmental exams (SAS Preliminary & DCT Exams) for continuous capacity development of the officers and officials.

16. Management of parking space and issuance of parking stickers for smooth parking of vehicles and restrict the entry of unauthorized vehicles.

17. Conducting camps like Blood Donation Camps, Yoga Camps, meditation camps, Health & Dental check-ups, etc. for the overall well-being of the members of the staff.

18. Plantation of trees on office premises and at the Audit Pool Colony (Residential staff quarters) in the realization of our responsibility towards environmental protection.

19. Maintenance of Benevolent to relieve financial distress among the employees and their families in the event of death, prolonged sickness, unforeseen misfortunes, etc. 

20. Any other issue related to the welfare of the office and the staff members.

Staff Welfare:

First Aid is provided to the members of the staff suffering from minor illness/minor injuries during duty hours. Welfare section has the facility for providing medicines for common cold and fever. Facility for checking of blood pressure and blood sugar is also available


Medical

The Welfare Section maintains some general medicines obtained over the counter which does not require a Doctor’s prescription. We also maintain gadgets for monitoring blood glucose levels, a blood pressure testing apparatus, oxygen saturation level, Pulse monitoring, and a weighing scale.

The Welfare section provides help to the employees/officials (and their families) isolated because of Covid-19.  It also circulates advisories, instructions issued by the concerned authorities from time to time.

Wheelchair assistance is available for staff and visitors.
