Officer on Special Duty (OSD)/Accountant General (Audit) Assam
Shri Kahoto J. Yepthomi is an IA&AS Officer of the 2011 Batch. He did his Masters in Economics from North Eastern Hill University, Shillong. He joined this Office on 24th August 2026 (F/N).
Before joining this office, he served as Senior Deputy Accountant General in the O/o the Accountant General (Audit), Nagaland, Kohima. He has also served as Senior Deputy Accountant General in the O/o the Principal Accountant General (A&E), Nagaland, Kohima and looked after the charge of Accounts, VLC, Entitlements and Administration. He also served as Senior Deputy Accountant General (Economic Sector-I/Administration) in the O/o the Principal Accountant General (Audit), Meghalaya, Shillong and as Senior Deputy Accountant General (A/E & VLC) in the O/o the Accountant General (A&E), Meghalaya.
His international exposure includes representing the Department at the Workshop on Strengthening the Capacity of Supreme Audit Institution in Small Island Developing States (SIDS) organised by the UNDESA-SAI Maldives and IDI Global Summit held in Ukulhas, Maldives (August 2026). Additionally, his foreign assignments include, the Audit of Mission held in Naoura, Lebanon (September 2019) and the 9th Indo-China Young Auditors held in Lanzhou City, China (July 2018).
Dr. Gaurav Kumar, IA&AS
Accountant General (Audit), Assam
Dr. Gaurav Kumar is an Indian Audit & Accounts Service (IA&AS) officer of 2009 batch. He holds an MBBS degree and an MBA in Financial Management. He is a certified professional in various fields, including Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Certified Information System Auditor (CISA), Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), and Certified Information Security Manager (CISM). He assumed charge as the Accountant General (Audit), Assam on the forenoon of February 24, 2026. Prior to joining as Accountant General (Audit) , Assam, he served as Accountant General (A&E), Assam. His earlier assignments include various roles within the Indian Audit and Accounts Department, as well as positions under the Comptroller and Auditor General (C&AG) of India and the Government of India.
Shri Kumar Abhay, IA&AS
Accountant General (Audit), Assam
Shri Kumar Abhay is an officer of Indian Audit & Accounts Service (IA&AS) of 2008 batch. He has assumed the charge of the Accountant General (Audit), Assam with effect from 01.01.2024.
He has M. Phil. Degree in Statistics. He was awarded Gold Medal at University of Delhi in B.Sc. (Hons.) Statistics & M.Sc. (Statistics). He has experience of more than 21 years in the fields of Administration and Finance & Audit (including Audit experience of International Organizations).
- Prior to joining as the Accountant General (Audit), Assam, he held the position of Financial Advisor in PGIMER, Chandigarh from 27.11.2017 to 26.12.2023 alongwith the additional responsibilities of Financial Advisor of AIIMS, Rishikesh (UK), Raebareli (UP), Bhatinda (Punjab) & Bilaspur (HP).
- He held important charges at Group Officer level in O/o the Director General of Audit (Central Expenditure), New Delhi and other field Offices of IA&AD.
- Served as an Asstt. Professor at the University of Delhi (Post Graduate Department of Statistics) from 09.03.2005 to 31.08.2008.
- Served as the member of Indian Statistical Service (ISS) from 11.11.2002 to 08.03.2005.
He is the First Appellate Authority of this Office under the Right to Information (RTI) Act, 2005.
