Arrangement for Public Consultation
1. Objective
This Manual provides information regarding any arrangement for consultation with, or representation by, members of the public in relation to the formulation of policy or implementation thereof.
2. Arrangement for Public Consultation
The Office of the Principal Director of Audit, Central Expenditure (Agriculture, Food and Water Resources), Delhi is a field office of the Indian Audit & Accounts Department functioning under the Comptroller and Auditor General of India.
The Office is primarily responsible for conducting audit of the Ministries, Departments and other organisations of the Government of India falling within its audit jurisdiction.
The Office does not formulate public policies, nor is it an implementing agency for Government policies or schemes.
Accordingly, no formal arrangement exists for consultation with, or representation by, members of the public in relation to the formulation or implementation of public policy.
3. Access for Citizens
Although there is no institutional mechanism for public consultation on policy matters, members of the public may—
- Submit applications under the Right to Information Act, 2005.
- Access information available under proactive disclosure through the Office website.
- Submit representations to the competent authority in accordance with the prescribed procedure.
4. Review
At present, no formal arrangement exists for consultation with or representation by members of the public in relation to policy formulation or implementation. This Manual shall be updated if any such arrangement is introduced in future.
