Shri Anindya Dasgupta assumed charge as Principal Director of Audit (Coal) on 17 September 2024. He oversees audits of entities under Ministry of Coal like CIL and its subsidiaries. He also plans and guides audit of entities like Oil India Limited, National Insurance Company, CPWD, Tea Board and other Central Public Sector entities in Eastern India and the North East. He also served in this office as DD (Coal) during 2006-08 at Ranchi Branch Office.
As an officer of the 2002 batch of IA&AS, Shri Dasgupta has previously served as Principal Director of Audit (Central) at Hyderabad and as Accountant General (A & E) in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh offices. He has worked in multiple verticals of the Department – leading audit of major ports, heritage bodies, cultural institutions, paramilitary forces and central schemes in health, education, watershed management.
With an education in Economics and a professional CISA certification, he has been keenly following the evolution and deepening of digital platforms in public service delivery for the last 20 years. He has guided and finalized a number of IT Audit assignments as Director, IT Audit for O/o CAG of India. He has also led global knowledge development projects for the INTOSAI working group on IT Audit in the shape of INTOSAI Audit practice Guides on IS Assurance audit and contributed to the INTOSAI Handbook on IT Audit. He has been a Subject Matter Expert on IS Audit for the INTOSAI Development Initiative (IDI).
Mr. Dasgupta is also a musician, sportsperson and traveller and pursues these among his hobbies.
