Overview

“State Finances Audit Report” had been prepared based on the audited accounts of the Government of Meghalaya for the year ending March 2018. This report provides an analytical review of the Annual Accounts of the Government of Meghalaya. It is structured in three chapters.

Chapter-1 is based on audit of Finance Accounts and makes an assessment of the State Government’s fiscal position as on 31st March 2018. It provides an insight into trends in expenditure, borrowing pattern besides a brief account of central funds transferred directly to the State implementing agencies.

Chapter-2 is based on audit of Appropriation Accounts and reviews allocative priorities of the State Government and the manner in which the allocated resources were managed by the service delivery departments.

Chapter-3 is an overview of the State Government’s compliance with various financial rules and reporting requirements.

This report also has an appendage of additional data collected from several sources in support of the findings.
