Overview

This Report of the Comptroller and Auditor General of India contains results of compliance audit of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology. The instances mentioned in this Report are those, which came to notice during the course of test audit for the period 2015-16 as well as those which came to notice in earlier years, but could not be reported in the previous Audit Reports.

This Report contains significant audit findings which arose from the compliance audit of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology. This report contains five chapters as detailed below:

Chapter I give a brief introduction of the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology.

Chapter II relates to Department of Telecommunications and contains three paragraphs.

Chapter III relates to Department of Posts and contains five paragraphs including a review on Management of Investment of Fund of Postal life Insurance and Rural Postal Life Insurance.

Chapter IV relates to Department of Electronics and Information Technology and contains six paragraphs.
