Ms Rina Akoijam assumed office as Director General of Audit, Defence Services, Pune on 01 November, 2024. She belongs to the 1997 batch of the Indian Audit & Accounts Service. She is a post graduate in English Literature from Delhi University.
Prior to assuming charge as Director General in this office, she has served as Director General (HQ) in the office of the Comptroller & Auditor General of India, New Delhi, Director General of Audit (Infrastructure), New Delhi, Principal Director of Commercial Audit & Ex Officio Member Audit Board III, New Delhi, Accountant General (Audit), Gangtok, Sikkim, Principal Director (Central Excise), Principal Director (Northern Region), and Principal Director (GASAB) in the office of the Comptroller & Auditor General of India, New Delhi. She was on Secondment as Programme Manager at the INTOSAI Development Initiative (IDI), OSLO, Norway. She has also conducted international audits including audit of UNICEF headquarters at New York, UNICEF Supplies Division at Copenhagen, Denmark, and Cooperative Audits of SAIs in the Pacific Region.
