Varun Ahluwalia, CFA, is an officer of the 2010 batch of the Indian Audit and Accounts Service (IA&AS). He currently serves as Accountant General (Accounts & Entitlements), Nagaland, under the Comptroller and Auditor General of India, overseeing the State's accounts, pensions, provident funds, and employee entitlements.
Over 15 years, he has held senior roles across audit, accounts, and financial advisory functions — including Senior Deputy Accountant General (Audit), Haryana; Financial Advisor and Chief Accounts Officer at PGIMER, Chandigarh (one of India's premier public hospitals); Director of Revenue Audit, Jaipur; and Deputy Accountant General, Punjab.
He has served on external audit teams for the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).
A CFA charter holder, he holds a Master's in Public Policy from the Harris School of Public Policy, The University of Chicago and a Diploma in IPSAS from CIPFA, London. He has completed advanced training at the Anderson School of Business, UCLA.
